As Deputy Minority Leader, Rep. Demmer has been a leading voice for ethics reform. He is the chief sponsor of a legislator-lobbyist reform bill, and is the ranking Republican member of the Special Investigative Committee.
Strong communities provide better job opportunities. That's why Rep. Demmer works with mayors and local business leaders to bring state funding to improve roads and railways, and to attract new jobs and developments to our area.
Rep. Demmer is a leader of the bipartisan Medicaid Work Group, which works to improve access to healthcare for every community in our state. He also sponsored bills to reduce red-tape for patients and caregivers, and reduce prescription drug prices through competition.
Tom Demmer is State Representative for the 90th District in the Illinois House of Representatives. The 90th District includes parts of DeKalb, LaSalle, Lee and Ogle Counties in north central Illinois.
Tom is Deputy Minority Leader in the House of Representatives. He serves on several healthcare and education committees and is a strong voice for transparency, reform, and fiscal responsibility, and is a member of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.
Tom is also Director of Innovation & Strategy at KSB Hospital, a not-for-profit community hospital with locations in Lee and Ogle Counties. He graduated from the University of Dayton, and was a White House Intern in the Office of the Vice President of the United States. Prior to the General Assembly, Tom served on the Lee County Board.
Tom is a Henry W. Toll Fellow with the Council of State Governments. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home Preservation Foundation. He is a member of St. Anne Parish, the Dixon Rotary Club, the Knights of Columbus, and is a volunteer teacher with Junior Achievement.
